Selected Jobs, Projects, and Events of Note:

Art classes 2008-09  At Mount Kisco elder/child care center- six dates over six months, two classes per date. Some projects: life-path mandala-collages [two dates], life-sized "super self" posters [elders helped youngers figure out their own super powers, traced their silhouettes onto paper, then helped to decorate them], snowbirds out of milkweed pods and cardboard, miniature cherry blossom "trees" out of twigs, lace, and ribbon.

Office manager, S. Ulster County Chamber of Commerce, May 2006- January 2007
Tiny Chamber in village of Highland had a turnover of more than 7 office mgrs in two years, members dwindled to 80. Pushed it to be community-oriented Chamber which aids schools, local govt, and small business to more dynamically network. Conceived, organized such events as "The State of the County": 6 legislators came to dinner & relaxed panel discussion with locals. Left for personal reasons- membership over 120.

Teaching assistant, Hudson Academy, 10/31/05 - 04/2006
HRA is where they send all the "bad" kids. Someone who knew of my previous work with kids at drug rehabs hired me as teaching ass't. Sent 2 "worst" kids from each class to me. They'd throw furniture, etc, but within 2 wks would begin to succeed. Later was given "worst" homeroom to run. Within weeks they all performed at the top of HRA's "points" system & passed their classes.
Left for financial reasons [50 mile commute].

Translator, Partsearch, +/- September 2004- June 2005
I am ill-suited to lying on the phone in French to angry Quebecois customers in search of parts for their broken electronics. The company had zero affordable parts available for their French Canadian customers and yet insisted on having a department to "service" them. The issue revolved around the fact that they were putting a 60% markup on another parts retailer's prices, which nobody in their right mind would want to pay. They assured me several times that this would be rectified and that soon there would be a proper catalogue and pricing. After waiting for nine months for them to live up to their word, I left, unimpressed.
